Description: This year's Centennial John Dewey Lectureship in Jurisprudence will be given by Amy Gutmann, Provost, and Laurance S. Rockefeller University Professor of Politics and the University Center for Human Values at Princeton University.

Professor Gutmann is President of the American Society of Political and Legal Philosophy. Professor Gutmann is author and editor of many books, among them Democratic Education (Princeton University Press, 1987, second edition 1999). Other of her recent books include Democracy and Disagreement (with Dennis Thompson, Harvard University Press, 1996), andEthics and Politics (third ed., with Dennis Thompson, Nelson-Hall, 1997).
