This piece of history is the opening number to the very first Law School Musical, Lawyers in Love, performed on February 17, 1984.

I Can't Believe I'm Going to Law School

(Tracy, played by Elyn Megargee):

I can't believe I'm going to law school
The chauffeur's bringing daddy's car
I can't believe I'm going to law school
I know I'm gonna be a star

Now's the time for me to try to really fly
Try and catch me if you dare
Law school is the place where I can really fly
And I can't believe I'm going there.

(Sherman, played by Bryan Anderson):

I can't believe I'm going to law school
I must be going out of my head
I can't believe I'm going to law school
I knew I should have stayed a pre-med

I'm not the kind of guy who likes to bust his chops
I'd rather live without a care
Law school is a place you go to bust your chops
And I can't believe I'm going there
I can't believe I'm going there

(Full cast):

I can't believe I'm going to law school
It looks like it's as bad as they said
I can't believe I'm going to law school
I think that I'd be better off dead
Classes haven't started and I gotta confess
I'm filled with apprehension and fear
Classes haven't started and I gotta confess
And I can't believe I'm here
Can't believe it, can't believe it, can't believe I'm here
(prayerfully) Oh God!
